Travel with Purpose (TwP) is more than a travel club—it's a community of curious, adventurous, and caring people who believe travel should be meaningful, educational, enjoyable, and shared.
Many travel groups bring people together for a week and then send them back home, often never to cross paths again. TwP was created with a different vision. We bring together like-minded travelers—often from the same company, profession, neighborhood, or community—who want to build genuine connections that continue long after the trip ends.
Our members don't just travel together; they stay connected. They share photos, stories, lessons learned, travel tips, cultural experiences, and memories from past adventures while looking forward to the next one. Friendships formed on a trip often turn into coffee meetups, happy hours, community events, volunteer activities, and future journeys.
At its heart, TwP is built on the belief that travel can enrich our lives in ways that go far beyond checking destinations off a list. Travel exposes us to new cultures, perspectives, languages, foods, histories, and ways of thinking. It helps us grow, remain curious, and better understand both the world and ourselves.
We also believe travel is a privilege. Whenever possible, TwP seeks ways to give back—supporting local communities, helping others experience the joy of travel, and creating opportunities for learning, cultural exchange, and service.
For professionals, coworkers, neighbors, and community members, TwP offers something increasingly rare in today's world: a chance to build authentic relationships around shared experiences. The conversations, laughter, discoveries, and memories often become just as meaningful as the destinations themselves.
Whether standing in a centuries-old village, sharing a meal with new friends, learning from local cultures, or watching a sunset halfway around the world, the experience is richer when shared with people who value connection, curiosity, and community.
Travel with Purpose isn't simply about where we go.
It's about who we become, who we meet, what we learn, how we give back, and the lasting friendships and memories we create along the way.
We partner with respected and highly experienced travel/tour operators such as:

to offer carefully selected domestic and international adventures.
There are countless ways to travel. What makes Travel with Purpose different is the people.
While beautiful destinations, amazing food, and memorable experiences are important, many travelers tell us that the most rewarding part of a trip is sharing it with people they know, trust, and enjoy spending time with.
Traveling with a group of like-minded people creates a sense of community, friendship, safety, and belonging that can be difficult to find when traveling alone or with strangers. Whether you're traveling with friends, family members, coworkers, or people you've met through our club, the shared experiences often become the most meaningful memories.
Travel with Purpose is more than a travel club. It is a community of curious explorers who enjoy learning about new cultures, meeting new people, trying new foods, and discovering the world together.
Our goal is simple:
Because the journey is often just as important as the destination.
Our members enjoy:

TwP is more than a trip—it's a community of travelers who explore, connect, learn, and grow together.
Research shows a strong association. travelling to new places may lower risk by combining novelty, navigation, learning, walking, social interaction, mood improvement, and stress reduction.
Key evidence:
Prospective cohort study, China, 6,717 adults age 60+
Older adults with at least one tourism experience had lower dementia incidence: 1.20% vs 2.17%, and adjusted dementia risk was lower (aHR 0.41, 95% CI 0.19–0.89). Cognitive impairment risk also decreased, with a dose-response pattern for more tourism experiences. (Frontiers)
U.S. Health and Retirement Study analysis, 2024
Leisure travel, especially longer-distance travel, was associated with higher cognitive function, less depression, and less loneliness in older adults. The authors clearly note this is association, not proof of causation. (MDPI)
Leisure activities and dementia risk
Classic NEJM research found that participation in cognitively stimulating leisure activities was linked to reduced dementia risk. Travel fits this category when it involves planning, navigation, language, culture, socializing, and problem-solving. (New England Journal of Medicine)
Activity diversity and hippocampal health
A 2022 study found that greater diversity of daily activities was associated with greater hippocampal volume. The hippocampus is central to memory and navigation, and it is heavily involved in Alzheimer’s disease. (Springer)
Newer 2026 research summary
Trinity College Dublin reported that physically, socially, and intellectually stimulating midlife activities—including foreign travel—were among activities linked with better cognition and lower dementia risk, even in people with genetic or family risk. (Trinity College Dublin)
Bottom line: Travel is probably brain-healthy when it is active, novel, social, and mentally engaging. The strongest protective version is not just sitting at a resort; it is walking, navigating, learning words, meeting people, trying new routines, and solving small travel problems.

To help confirm serious group interest, a refundable $100 interest deposit is due about six months before the actual trip date.
This deposit helps the organizers determine whether there is enough participation to move forward, contact tour companies early, secure group space, and plan ahead for the best possible pricing and travel experience.
The deposit:
Reserves your place on the interest list
Helps confirm group viability
Helps organizers coordinate early with travel partners
Is applied toward your trip cost if the trip proceeds
Is refunded if the trip is canceled by the organizer or travel club
Prices, dates, availability, and payment deadlines are subject to change.
Interest deposits can be paid through Venmo using the QR code or Venmo link displayed on each trip page.
If the trip does not reach the minimum number of participants, is canceled, or otherwise does not move forward, the full interest deposit will be refunded through Venmo to the traveler who submitted it.
If the trip proceeds, the deposit will automatically be credited toward the traveler's final trip payment.

These are programs that help travelers move faster through airport security or border/customs checkpoints. They are optional, but they can save a lot of time, especially for international travel, frequent flyers, and people who cross the U.S.-Mexico or U.S.-Canada border often.
For most U.S. travelers taking international group trips, Global Entry is the best overall choice because it speeds up U.S. customs when returning from abroad and includes TSA PreCheck benefits. Global Entry is currently about $120 for five years.
For people who mainly fly domestically, TSA PreCheck is usually enough. It helps at airport security so you often do not need to remove shoes, belts, light jackets, laptops, or liquids. Current enrollment costs vary by provider, roughly $77-$85 for five years.
For San Diego travelers who frequently drive across the Mexico border, SENTRI can be very useful because it gives access to faster dedicated lanes entering the U.S. from Mexico. SENTRI is about $120 for five years.
CLEAR+ is different. It is a private company, not a government trusted-traveler program. It uses biometric identity verification to move you faster through the ID-check portion of airport security, but you still go through TSA screening. CLEAR+ costs $209 per year, and it can be combined with TSA PreCheck for the fastest airport experience.
Global Entry
Global Entry is for faster entry back into the U.S. after international travel. After approval, travelers use Global Entry kiosks or biometric processing at participating airports. It also gives you a Known Traveler Number that can be added to airline reservations for TSA PreCheck access. The process usually requires an online application, background check, conditional approval, and an interview.
TSA PreCheck
TSA PreCheck is for faster airport security screening before your flight. After approval, you receive a Known Traveler Number. Add that number to your airline profile or reservation so TSA PreCheck appears on your boarding pass. It does not help with customs when returning to the U.S.
SENTRI
SENTRI is mainly for faster entry into the U.S. at the southern land border, especially from Mexico. It is useful for frequent Baja/Tijuana travelers. Approved travelers use dedicated SENTRI lanes. Vehicle approval may be needed for certain lane use.
NEXUS
NEXUS is mainly for frequent U.S.-Canada travelers. It can speed up land, air, and marine border processing between the U.S. and Canada. It also includes Global Entry-type benefits when the required information is collected during enrollment.
CLEAR+
CLEAR+ lets you verify your identity using face or fingerprint technology at participating airports. It can get you to the physical screening area faster, but it does not replace TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, a passport, or government screening. CLEAR says it has CLEAR+ lanes at 62 airports and can be used with TSA PreCheck.
For Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS, apply through the official DHS Trusted Traveler Program website, pay the fee, wait for conditional approval, and complete the interview. Apply early because interview availability can take time.
For TSA PreCheck, apply through the official TSA PreCheck enrollment process, choose an approved provider, attend an in-person appointment, provide fingerprints, and receive a Known Traveler Number after approval. Be careful with scam websites; use official government or approved-provider links only.
For CLEAR+, sign up online or at a CLEAR location, then complete biometric enrollment at the airport. CLEAR requires valid ID and is available to adults 18 and older; children 17 and under can usually accompany a CLEAR+ member for free.
You do not need any of these to travel. They are convenience programs.
These programs are optional but highly recommended for travelers who want a smoother airport or border experience. Global Entry is usually the best choice for international travelers because it includes TSA PreCheck. TSA PreCheck is useful for domestic airport security. SENTRI is best for frequent Mexico border crossings, NEXUS is best for frequent Canada travel, and CLEAR is an optional add-on for travelers who fly often from airports that offer it. Apply several months before your trip, because approval and interview times can vary.
